Time To Kill
I have one lesson (45 minutes) between my last lesson today and my tutoring session. Thank goodness for the tumblr application for the iPhone. Today was pretty normal actually. The one that was entertaining was my 11th grade class. I had them read and listen to George W. Bush’s inauguration speech from 2001. They definitely got a kick out of listening to it. I had one student ask me if there really is a difference between “its” and “it’s”. The whole class had no idea. Keep in mind they have had english for well over 6 years. Hard to believe
I was also assigned the task of picking out a book for that class to read. It needs to have the theme “American Dream”. The first pieces of literature that came to mind were “Death of a Salesman”, “Of Mice and Men”, and “The Great Gatsby”. I am more than open to other suggestions.
I need to pick up some contact solution and picture frames after my lesson today. Then rest up a bit and head out to trivia night. Then my 4 day weekend starts. Be jealous.
